INDUSTRIAL SALES AND SERVICE (ISS)

This division is a continuation of the type of service on which Horner Electric was founded 50 years ago. There are three distinct departments within this division; the Apparatus Repair Shop; the Field Service department; and the Industrial Sales department. The following provides a brief summary of each of these departments.

THE APPARATUS REPAIR SHOP
Currently this department has the capabilities to perform electrical and mechanical repair services on many types of equipment. The following list includes some of the services currently offered.

A/C and D/C Electric Motor repair through 10,OOOHP and up to 13.2 KV.
Complete rewinding facility servicing A/C and D/C motors, transformers and specialty coils.
Complete machine shop services with the capability to swing 66" diameter and up to 180" in length.
Vacuum impregnation up to lot diameter, using IM1709 solventless polyester resin.
Complete mechanical repair service on fans, pumps, feeders, gearboxes, positive displacement and centrifugal blowers.
Complete dynamic balancing services both in-house to 15,000 lbs. and on site.
Alignment services including laser.
Advanced diagnostic services for vibration analysis on rotating equipment. (See E.D.S.)
Complete hoist repair services including load test to 40,000 lbs.
THE FIELD SERVICE DEPARTMENT
The Field Service Department at Horner Electric employs a staff of highly trained service technicians. Some of the services provided by this department include:
Trouble shooting of electrical and electronic controls.
A/C and D/C drive application, installation and repair.
PLC programming and trouble shooting.
Machine installations and retrofits.
Control panel design and construction including UL certified panels.
Power line construction and design.
Transformer and switchgear testing and maintenance.
Power line repair up to 15KV.
Control system design and installation.
Cable splicing, terminating and testing.

THE INDUSTRIAL SALES DEPARTMENT
The Industrial Sales Department handles the distribution of products and support for the industrial market. Products sold by this department include electric motors, motor controls, variable speed drives, solid state motor starters, hoists and gear boxes. ELECTRO-MECHANICAL DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES (E.D.S.)
In 1989, Horner Electric saw a need for the ability to do more in-depth analysis of rotating equipment in order to better diagnose machine problems. With this in mind, a partnership was formed with Nelson Baxter of A.B.M. Technical Services to create ElectroMechanical Diagnostic Services or E.D.S.
This company is dedicated to predictive maintenance services in the industrial market. E.D.S. currently employs three, full-time engineers dedicated to these services. All of our engineers are level III certified by the Vibration Institute. The following is a list of services provided by E.D.S.
Vibration trending and analysis.
Infrared Imaging.
On line monitoring of motors to evaluate rotor condition.
Electrical line harmonic testing.
Resonance testing.
Advanced spectral analysis.
Advanced multi-planebalancing.
Advanced alignment services (Laser and Computer).
Structural Background Vibration Testing.

Electrical Solutions in Industrial Automation
Horner Electric's Advanced Products Group (APG) entered the electrical control market in 1987 as a designer of industrial peripheral modules for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). For several years APG has been a leading third party development company for the GE Fanuc family of PLCS.
APG's expertise in the design of products such as Communication Modules, Sensor Interfaces, Stepper Positioning Modules, Drive Communication Cards, Operator Interfaces and Industrial Computer Workstations has led to tremendous growth and success.
APG currently offers over 250 different products geared toward the PLC market. The key to its success has been the ability to be more responsive to market needs than the companies that it supports. This factor has led to the development of a number of close and beneficial working relationships.
